By « anglosphere » we understand the 5 or 6 countries which have been established by British colonists and of which the subjects or citizens have English as their as their native, and/or usual language : Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, the USA.
After the Second World War, these countries formed an intelligence and information sharing network, informally called The 5 Big Ears, or The 5 Big Eyes. Informal, but very efficient it is, and able to mobilize lots of financial and technical resources.
Three of them, Australia, the UK and the USA recently concluded an alliance – AUKUS – that aims to mirror, or match, the North Atlantic Alliance, NATO, in the South, that is in the Indo- pacific.
The Anglosphere so becomes, around the world, Eurasia and China – its main challenger– a sort of « Empire of the All Around ».
This site intends to provide in English and French, material and news to better understand the new shape taken by an already ancient phenomenon, and its impact in the context of the present global geopolitics.
It also plans examine 1. to what extent that impact can be beneficial or detrimental to the global welfare of our planet, its flora and fauna, including our human species 2. what role can Continental Europe play in order to balance the coming confrontation between the Empire of the Middle and that of the All-Around. «
